#ProJackets Golf Update

Oct. 13, 2015

THE FLATS – Matt Kuchar can come home happy because the United States won last weekend’s Presidents Cup, 15.5-14.5 in Incheon City, South Korea.

Unfortunately, however, the former Yellow Jacket All-American had a rough weekend individually, dropping a foursomes match and his singles match, and he fell to 4-7-2 lifetime in three Presidents Cup competitions. Kuchar lost 2 and 1 Sunday to Australia’s Branden Grace in his singles match, and Grace also was on the opposite site in Friday’s foursomes match in which he and Patrick Reed lost 3 and 2.Kuchar teamed with Bill Haas to halve their Saturday foursomes match against Sangmoon Bae and Hideki Matsuyama.

Kuchar, the 16th-ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking, is committed to play in the Bridgestone Americas Golf Cup, Oct. 22-25 in Mexico City. Kuchar will play alongside Justin Hueber, the best American on the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica Order of Merit (6th) and winner of the Abierto Mexicano de Golf, in what will be one of the favorite teams to follow.

More details on that event here.

PGA Tour: The fall segment of the 2015-16 PGA Tour season begins this weekend, and Ollie Schniederjans has received exemptions into three events – the Frys.com Open Oct. 15-18 in Napa,Calif., the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, Nev., and the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss. The fall series includes seven events, ending Nov. 19-22 with the McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Ga.

Also in the Frys.com Open field are Bryce Molder, who finished third in last year’s event, Roberto Castro, Chesson Hadley and Cameron Tringale.

Web.com Tour Q-School Anders Albertson (T10), DrewCzuchry (T14) and Kyle Scott (T20) advanced to the second stage with their performances last week at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. Albertson shot 12-under-par 276, finishing 14 shots off the pace, while Czuchry complete the 72 holes in 11-under 277, and Scott in 10-under 278. The top 24 plus ties advanced, and Scott finished on the number.

The first stage of the Web.com Tour Q-School continued this week at four different sites, including Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga., where Anders Albertson, Bo Andrews, Drew Czuchry, Kyle Scott and James White are competing.

Seth Reeves is in the field for the first-stage competition Oct. 13-16 at Highland Oaks in Dothan, Ala.

Richard Werenski, who finished 79th in the Web.com Tour regular-season money list, is exempt into the final stage of Q-School, Dec. 10-15 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Matt Weibring, who finished 87th in the regular-season earnings list, is exempt into the second stage, which is played Nov. 10-13 and Nov. 17-20 at five different sites.
