Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Day Two at All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. – Georgia Tech men’s tennis senior Elijah Melendez made it to the Round of 32 as pre-qualifying singles action concluded on Sunday afternoon at the ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa.

Melendez picked up an impressive win in the Round of 64, downing Gonzalo Raschiatore of Middle Tennessee in a three-set thriller, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Unfortunately, Melendez wouldn’t make it past the Round of 32 when Tulane’s Luis Erlenbusch defeated Melendez 6-3, 6-3.

Chris Yun faced off against Oklahoma State’s Luke Hammond in his Round of 64 matchup, but ultimately fell in a hard-fought battle, 7-6 (1), 6-4.

The Yellow Jackets will continue in the All-Americans when Carlos Divar begins qualifying singles play on Monday, Oct. 2 He squares off against Ethan Nittolo of Buffalo at 9 a.m. eastern. Divar and Yun will also play together in qualifying doubles action at 1 p.m. eastern against Kai Lemke and Matt Story of Memphis.
