THE FLATS – In the final day of the Georgia Tech Invitational, the Yellow Jackets continued to hold control of the courts, earning three singles victories and two doubles wins on Sunday at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.

Also victorious in doubles was the tandem of Phillip Gresk and Chris Yun, who downed Virginia’s Matthew Lord and Jerome Romauldez in a thrilling 8-7(3) match.

Brandon Freestone and Elijah Melendez fell in a hard-fought, 8-4 showdown with Giles Hussey and Kevin Huynh of Georgia State.

In singles play, Divar won the winners’ side of the Old Gold bracket with a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over Virginia’s Matthew Lord. Divar fell in a tough first set, 6-1, but went on to rally for 6-4 victories in the second and third set to keep his record sheet clean throughout the invitational.

Gresk also went undefeated in the tournament, downing Virginia Tech’s Chase Bernstine in a back-and-forth 6-3, 7-6(3) affair to win the winners’ side of the White bracket.

Freestone was able to grab another singles victory in his first fall season of competition with the Jackets. The freshman downed Auburn’s Alex Mascioli 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday morning.
