Georgia Tech-UGA Match to be Televised Live on Tennis Channel

THE FLATS – The much-anticipated showdown between Georgia Tech men’s tennis and archrival Georgia on Feb. 9 will be broadcast live on Tennis Channel and Tennis Channel Everywhere, the USTA announced on Tuesday. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

As part of the 2018 USTA College MatchDay, the Yellow Jackets join five men’s tennis programs and 14 teams overall in the showcase, with Tech battling the No. 4 Bulldogs in its first nationally televised dual match under the lights of the 1,200-seat USTA National Campus collegiate stadium at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla.

Veteran tennis broadcaster Leif Shiras and former world No. 4 James Blake will be on the call, alongside former world No. 5 Jimmy Arias, who will serve as the “sideline” reporter. The six College MatchDay events will be the first series of live college tennis programming that Tennis Channel has ever aired.

Admission is free for each College MatchDay event, however complimentary tickets will be scanned at the gates for attendance purposes and are available HERE. In addition to the match, on-site amenities will include kid’s activities, live music, games and giveaways.
