Sophomores Casey Kay and Nathan Rakitt and freshmen Carlos Benito and Cole Fiegel are all competing in the men’s 64-player singles bracket and the 32-team doubles bracket, getting multiple matches of experience on clay surfaces. The event runs through Sunday, when the finals in men’s and women’s singles and doubles will take place.

Benito (Madrid, Spain) reached the finals of the consolation singles draw at last week’s USTA/ITA Southeast Regional, while Rakitt (Marietta, Ga.) made the quarterfinals of the back draw. Kay (Atlanta, Ga.) knocked off the regional’s No. 5 seed, Georgia’s Hernus Pieters, in the opening round before falling in the round of 32.

Rakitt and Fiegel (Alachua, Fla.), paired in doubles this weekend and seeded among the top eight teams this weekend, advanced to the semifinals of the main draw of last weekend’s regional, beating the top-seeded team of Pieters and Ben Wagland along the way, while Benito and Kay reached the finals of the consolation draw.
