Eubanks to Compete in JSM Challenger

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis junior Christopher Eubanks travels to Champaign, Ill. To compete in the JSM Challenger of Chapaign-Urbana, a USTA pro circuit event. Eubanks will compete in the qualifying draw to begin on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.

Qualifying starts on Nov. 12 and runs through the morning of Nov. 14. The singles main draw will begin in the afternoon on Nov. 14.

In his last outing, Eubanks advanced to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. At the tournament he was honored with the Men’s USTA/ITA Sportsmanship Award.

Eubanks carries a 7-3 record coming out of the fall tour season. The 6-foot-7, Atlanta native won the mixed doubles title with North Carolina’s Hayley Carter at the ITA Oracle Masters in Malibu, Calif. in October. He also competed in the quarterfinals of the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships. The All-American took five wins over ranked opponents this fall as well as topping the No. 3-ranked freshman in the country.

Volunteer coach Kevin King will also compete at the challenger.
