In 2000-01: Was hampered by injury for much of the season and earned a medical redshirt...Still managed to post the team's top times in the 800 meters and 1500 meters during the outdoor season...Placed third at the Snowbird Invitational in the 800 with a time of 1:52.64...That performance was the ninth-fastest time in the ACC...Clocked a time of 3:50.72 in the 1500 at the Alabama Relays...That mark was the league's seventh-best performance... Competed on a pair of fifth-place relays at the Alabama Relays...The 4x400 posted a time of 3:16.64, while the 4x800 was clocked at 7:43.74.
2000 Cross Country: One of Tech's top performers, recording two top-10 finishes...Finished third at the Mitchell Invitational (15:37.24) to lead the Jackets to the team title...Placed ninth at the Wolfpack Inivitational with a 6K time of 24:02...Tech's top finisher at the Iowa State Classic in a season-best 10K time of 32:34.
In 1999-2000: Had an outstanding rookie campaign, winning a pair of ACC Championships and earning All-America honors during the 1999-2000 campaign...Won the ACC title in the mile at the indoor championships with a time of 4:09.25, becoming the third Yellow Jacket to win that event...Won the 800 meters at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a time of 1:50.96...Also placed second in the 1500-meter event at the ACC Outdoor Championship...For his efforts, he was named the ACC's Freshman of the Year for both indoor and outdoor track...Earned All-America honors in the 800 after running a time of 1:48.17 at the NCAA Championships.
