@GT_trackNfield Finishes First Day in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Georgia Tech track & field squad began 2016 at the Vanderbilt Commodore Invitational Friday night. The Vanderbilt Student Rec Center was the setting for the first day of the event, which included the high jump, long jump, weight throw, pole vault, 200 meters, 4×800 relays and 5000 meters.

The top finisher for the Jackets was sophomore William Solomon, who finished 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 7.35 meters. On the women’s side, freshman Bria Matthews finished 4th in the long jump, reaching a mark of 6.21 meters.

The Jackets will continue the meet tomorrow at 10 a.m. and will end at 5:05 p.m. with the men’s 4×400 relay.
