Track And Field Set For ACC Indoor Championships

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field team is set to compete at the ACC Indoor Championships Thursday-Saturday in Clemson, S.C. at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex.

Live streaming coverage of the events will be available on ESPN3, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

Virginia Tech enters as the defending ACC men’s champion after winning its second title in three years last season at Blacksburg, Va. The Clemson women will enter the Championship as four-time defending ACC champion.

Two ACC men’s teams are among the nation’s top 10 in the most recent USTFCCCA rankings with Florida State at No. 6 and Notre Dame at No. 10. Pitt ranks No. 19 to give the ACC three teams among the nation’s top 25.

North Carolina is currently 13th in the women’s rankings, while Duke holds the No. 24 spot.

Action begins Thursday at 12 p.m. with the women’s pentathlon, followed by the men’s heptathlon. The men’s and women’s DMRs close out the opening day at 6 p.m.

Friday focuses on the preliminary running events beginning at 1 p.m. with the mile, as well as the final field events for the men’s and women’s high jump, long jump and weight throw.

Saturday’s action begins at 11 a.m. and wraps up with the awards ceremony at 4 p.m.
