GREENSBORO, N.C. – As announced by Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford, Wednesday, six Georgia Tech athletes have been recognized on the Indoor Track Academic All-ACC team for their efforts in the classroom.

Freshman Julienne McKee, sophomore Jasmine Kent, juniors Duncan Thompson and Aaron Unterberger and seniors Leslie Njoku and Joanna Wright have each earned the academic honor for the first time in their careers.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.

Florida State senior Kim Williams has been recognized as the 2011 ACC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year, while Clemson graduate student Miller Moss has been honored as the 2011 ACC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

McKee, a freshman biology major, has made a mark on the Tech Track team in her first season on the Flats earning points in both the long and triple jump at the Indoor ACC Championships. Fellow jumper, Kent, a sophomore architecture major, also helped Tech to garner some points at the ACC Indoor meet with her seventh place long jump performance.
