DAEGU, Korea - Running the third leg of the 4x400 meter relay, former Georgia Tech All-American Angelo Taylor helped the relay team to the gold medal at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, Korea, Friday.

The final was held on September 2 at 9:15 p.m., Daegu time as the team of Greg Nixon, Bershawn Jackson, Taylor, and LaShawn Merritt crossed the line in 2:59.31 for the victory.

The foursome narrowly edged out the second place team from South Africa by a half of a second. Jamaica picked up the bronze medal crossing the line in 3:00.10.

Taylor also placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles at the meet, after taking first place at the National Championship earlier this year. Taylor clocked in with a time of 49.31 right behind teammate Jackson in a race that was decided by a mere second.
