Tech XC Takes Ninth, 11th at ACC Championships
DJ McMillan was the top Tech finisher in 33rd place

CLEMSON, S.C. - At the 2011 ACC Championships, the Georgia Tech men's and women's cross country teams earned ninth and 11th place respectively. D.J. McMillan paced all Tech runners with a 33rd place, 24:23.8 place finish. The women's team was led by Mary Kownack who took 61st place overall with a time of 22:14.1.
The top-five runners, and scorers, for the Jackets included McMillan, followed by Patrick Barron who crossed in 40th place with a time of 24:31.2, Shawn Roberts in 53rd place with a time of 24:45.7, Alec Clifford in 66th place with a time of 25:09.0 and Niall Longobardi in 72nd place with a time of 25:19.7.
On the women's side, after Kownack, came Rachel Hammond in 75th place with a time of 22:51.2, Kelly Meyer in 77th place with a time of 22:58.7, Katie Vance in 80th place with a time of 23:06.0 and Katie Townsend rounded out the top-5 in 23:33.7.
The No. 1 Florida State women earned their fourth-straight XC title while the 19th ranked NC State men earned the bragging rights with their first place finish.
The Jackets will return to action at the NCAA South Regional Championships on November 12 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
