Jackets Drop 62-61 Decision at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Georgia Tech led by eight points with four minutes left to play, but a feisty Clemson team rebounded to claim a 62-61 win Sunday afternoon in Littlejohn Coliseum.

How It Happened
Georgia Tech shook off a slow start against Clemson, clawing their way back from a 6-point deficit in the first quarter to lead 12-8 at the first intermission. Tech outscored Clemson in the second quarter 21-11 to climb its way in front and started the quarter with a 17-4 run to take its largest lead of the game at 25-16 following a Cha'Ron Sweeney triple with 2:56 left in the half. Sweeney would score another four points for the Jackets in the frame as Tech held a 29-23 lead at halftime.

Clemson opened the third quarter with an 18-4 run, fueled by a 14-0 spurt, to regain control and lead 41-33. The Jackets would span the end of the third quarter and fourth quarter with an 18-5 run to take a 51-46 lead back as the Jackets would lead by eight following Vuckovic's second triple of the game at 4:07. Clemson used the final four minutes to limit the Jackets to two field goals, while going 3-of-5 from the field and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. The Tigers outscored the Jackets 13-4 in the final four minutes to take the win.

* Tech dropped to 13-8 overall and 2-6 in ACC play with the loss
* The loss snapped a five-game win streak over the Tigers and marked the first win for Clemson over Tech on its home floor since 2006
* Clemson outrebounded Tech 39-21, including a 17-10 edge on offensive boards
* Zaire O'Neil led the Jackets with 19 points, followed by Katarina Vuckovic and Imani Tilford each with 10 points
* Aliyah Collier posted a double-double to lead the Tigers with 21 points and 12 rebounds
