Georgia Tech Heads To Tallahassee For FSU Rematch

Georgia Tech will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for a rematch with the Florida State Seminoles at 7 p.m. Friday night which can be seen on the ACCDN on YouTube. The `Noles are the first repeat opponent of Tech's 2012-13 ACC schedule.
In the two sides' first meeting, Tech shot 58.8 percent in the first half and led the 19th-ranked Seminoles by seen at intermission. The back-and-forth affair had eight ties and 19 lead changes before Florida State prevailed 85-78 on Jan. 3 in Atlanta.
Senior Danielle Hamilton-Carter led the Yellow Jackets with a season-high 13 points and eight rebounds. Hamilton-Carter was one of five Jackets to finish with double figure points. Junior Dawnn Maye finished with her fourth career double-double as she tossed in 11 points and dished out 12 assists. Florida State is Georgia Tech's eighth most oftened played opponent despite not being in the same conference until 1992.
The last time the Jackets and Noles met in Tallahassee, Tech claimed a 79-55 victory on Jan. 22, 2012. Tyaunna Marshall was 11-of-13 from the field and led all scorers with 22 points.

In Georgia Tech's seven games against ranked opponents this year, junior Tyaunna Marshall has stepped up.
Marshall is averaging 17.4 points while shooting 43 percent from the field against AP ranked foes. She has twice as many points (122) as the next Jacket. She has scored in double digits against every ranked opponent this year, including 26 at No. 14 Purdue and 23 at No. 4 Duke. She
Marshall also leads Tech in rebounds with 7.3 in those games. Her 20 assists and 15 steals against ranked opponents are both second on the Tech roster.
LAST TIME IN TALLY
The last time Tech and FSU met in Tallahassee, the Jackets snapped a three-game losing streak to the Seminoles with a 79-55 win on Jan. 22, 2012.
Tech was blistering from the field in the first half, shooting 60.6 percent and finished the game converting 54.7 percent of all shots. Tyaunna Marshall led the Jackets with 22 points on 11-of-13 shooting.
Florida State is Georgia Tech's eighth most often played opponent despite the not being in the same conference until 1992.

Freshman Brittany Jackson has made five 3-pointers in three games this year: Nov. 18 vs. Marquette, Jan. 10 vs. Virginia and Jan. 17 at Miami. She leads Georgia Tech with 29 3-pointers made, and ranks sixth in the ACC in 3-pointers made per game with 1.9 and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage, 38.7.
