Georgia Tech Hosts Miami, Senior Day On Sunday

The Yellow Jackets have won two straight games are trying to snap a four game losing streak to the Hurricanes. In the first meeting with Miami this year, Brittany Jackson posted a career-high 23 points, including five made 3-pointers, but the Jackets dropped a 71-65 decision.
In Tech's last outing, Tyaunna Marshall and Sydney Wallace paced the Yellow Jackets to an easy win at Wake Forest. Marshall scored 20 of her 27 points in the first half and Wallace finished with 20, including five 3-pointers. Marshall added 10 rebounds for her fourth straight double-double against Wake Forest. Aaliyah Whiteside tossed in 18 and Roddreka Rogers grabbed 11 rebounds.
Georgia Tech scored 47 points in the first half at Wake Forest, the most points it's scored in the first half since pouring in 50 in the opening 20 minutes against NC State in last year's ACC Tournament semifinals.
The 2013 senior class has helped Georgia Tech win at least 20 games in their first three years, appear in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three years and advance to the 2012 ACC championship game. The trio has won 85 career games and owns a .659 winning percentage, which both rank fourth all-time by a class in the White and Gold. Their 34 career ACC wins are the second most by any Georgia Tech class.
Junior Tyaunna Marshall is the only player in the ACC to rank in the league's top 10 in scoring (3rd, 17.5 ppg), rebounding (5th, 8.6 rpg) and steals (4th, 2.5 spg).
DOUBLING UP WAKE
Junior Tyaunna Marshall has finished with double-doubles in the Jackets' last four games against Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons are the only team Marshall has more than one career double-double against.
If Georgia Tech makes a 3-pointer against Miami, it will be the 100th straight game in which the Yellow Jackets have made a three. The last time Tech did not make a three was Feb. 28, 2010, at NC State.
GT TOP 10 SCORERS
Marshall broke into the Georgia Tech career scoring top 10 with 15 points against Virginia Tech.
The junior enters the Miami game with 1,433 career points and in 8th all-time at Tech. Joyce Pierce is seventh all-time with 1,557 points all-time. The full list of Georgia Tech career scoring leaders can be found on page 11.
Marshall began the season with 978 points and outside of the top 25 Yellow Jacket scorers.
FROM LONG RANGE
Sophomore Sydney Wallace is already closing in on the Georgia Tech career top 3-point records. Her first half 3-pointer at Wake Forest moved her past Stephanie Higgs for ninth all-time in the Gold and White. Wallace enters the Miami game with 89 long-range buckets.
Selena Baldwin is eighth with 101. Wallace has 44 triples this year and made 45 last year as a freshman.
