PARIS – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team won its third-straight game on its foreign tour tonight with an 88-50 victory against AMW Team France. Sophomore Aaliyah Whiteside led the team in scoring for the third exhibition game on this trip, scoring 22 points and tallying four rebounds.

“These games have been really good for us,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “Again, just the opportunity for us to look at different combinations and to have three games or four games in a row where we’ve had four players in double figures just says a lot about this team and the unselfishness of this team. They are willing to share the basketball.”

Three Yellow Jackets scored in double-figures against AMW. Along with Whiteside, freshman Kaela Davis scored 16 points while grabbing seven boards and senior Dawnn Maye scored 10 points and had five rebounds. This was Davis’ third-straight game scoring in double-figures.

“I think Aaliyah Whiteside has shown that the added strength and work in the offseason is really paying off,” Joseph said. “I’ve just been really impressed with her overall play in the last three games.”

Sophomore Nariah Taylor led the Yellow Jackets in rebounds for the second consecutive night, posting 11 grabs against the opponent. Senior Tyaunna Marshall had 10 rebounds and added eight points in the win.

The Yellow Jackets scored 30 points in the third quarter on its way to defeating AMW and only trailed once the entire contest when AMW took and 5-4 led at 8:23 in the first quarter. Thanks to a 19-0 run that lasted 6:32, the Yellow Jackets took back the advantage and didn’t let AMW come close to winning it back. GT outscored AMW, 23-9, in the first quarter.

During Georgia Tech’s unanswered run, Davis contributed six points while both Maye and Whiteside hit back-to-back 3-pointers at the 3:37 and 3:09 marks, respectively. Heading into the second quarter, Marshall made two straight baskets to bump up Georgia Tech’s lead to 27-11. Five-straight points by sophomore Sydney Wallace aided the Yellow Jackets in taking a 40-22 advantage at halftime.

The Yellow Jackets outscored AMW 30-17 in the third quarter. During the impressive GT offensive output, Davis scored six-straight points to give the Yellow Jackets a 59-31 lead. By the end of 30 minutes of play, Georgia Tech led, 70-39.

Whiteside secured the Yellow Jacket victory in the final quarter, hitting two consecutive 3-point shots with 8:20 left on the clock during a 7-0 run. Whiteside scored four 3-point baskets against AMW tonight.

This was the Yellow Jacket’s last exhibition game in Paris. Georgia Tech won both games in Paris against AMW France Team and one against the AMW French All-Stars in Barcelona to tally a 3-1 record so far on the foreign tour. The team will head to London tomorrow morning and plays the Barking Abbey on Thursday at 6 p.m. local time (1 p.m. ET).
