THE FLATS – Former Georgia Tech women’s basketball center Tiffany Blackmon returned to the Yellow Jacket locker room on Wednesday but instead of carrying in a basketball and gym sneakers, she returned with her arms full of makeup and hair products.

Blackmon, who played for the Jackets from 2006-10, styled the current Jackets’ hair and makeup for their 2014 photo day.

“It’s such an honor to be back here doing this,” Blackmon said. “It’s fun to be a part of. Georgia Tech holds a very big place in my heart. It’s cool when both worlds can collide.”

Blackmon played in 65 games throughout her career for the Yellow Jackets and was the 2007-08 recipient of the Edward Thomas Coopat, Jr. Athletic Scholarship Endowment. Her senior class amassed 88 wins in her four years at Georgia Tech. Blackmon, who began playing basketball at a young age, also began getting into makeup at a young age as well.

“I’m a girl’s girl,” Blackmon said. “Even when I played here, every game my makeup was done, my hair was done. That’s just how I’ve always been. I started playing with makeup when I was around 12. It just came naturally to me. Growing up around a bunch of women, my mom was the same way. Just watching her and my cousin, that is assisting me today, we grew up playing with makeup together and just trying out different thing.”

Blackmon works with a team of stylists and has been doing makeup professionally for around two years. She is a marketing associate for Indique here in Atlanta.

“I’m into a lot of different things but right now, with the job that I have, I work in the beauty industry all the time,” Blackmon said. “I’m constantly on sets. We travel a lot back and forth between here to New York to do photo shoots. We put all of that stuff together. I’m just always on that scene. I like a lot of artistic looks. As far as style icons with hair and makeup, I like Beyonce and Rhianna.”

After being styled by Blackmon and her team, the Yellow Jackets participated in a team photo shoot. Check out the behind-the-scenes photo gallery here.

The Yellow Jackets host an exhibition game against Flagler on Nov. 2 at McCamish Pavilion before traveling to Loyola Chicago on Nov. 14 to open up the 2014-15 season.  As a part of its nonconference schedule, Georgia Tech hosts Georgia on Nov. 23 and the Georgia Tech Holiday Tournament on Dec. 29 and 30. Check out the complete nonconference schedule here.
