THE FLATS –
Seventeen home games and nine games against NCAA Tournament teams from last year highlight the 2014-15 Georgia Tech women’s basketball schedule, which was released by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday.

The Yellow Jackets will play a total of 30 regular season games and one exhibition game during head coach MaChelle Joseph’s 12th season. The ACC portion of the Yellow Jackets’ schedule includes home-and-home series with national champion runners up Notre Dame and Clemson. Georgia, Florida State, N.C. State, Syracuse and Duke all highlight the Yellow Jackets’ home schedule. The Jackets host both Notre Dame and Syracuse for the first time in school history this season.

“We are looking forward to our ACC schedule,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “The ACC is the most competitive women’s basketball conference in the country. We look forward to the upcoming season. We are looking forward to welcoming Louisville into the league and traveling to play them in their inaugural conference game.”

Currently, the Yellow Jackets are scheduled to appear on national and regional television four times. When Georgia Tech travels to North Carolina on Sunday, January 11, the contest will be shown on the ACC Regional Sports Network. Tech’s home game against Florida State on Friday, January 30 will also be televised on the ACC Regional Sports Network. The Jackets will appear on the ACC Regional Sports Network two more times, when they travel to Miami on Sunday, February 15 and when they host Notre Dame on Thursday, February 19.

Two of the Yellow Jackets’ games are scheduled to be shown on ESPN3. Tech fans will be able to watch the Jackets play on ESPN3 when they travel to Notre Dame on Thursday, January 22 and when they host Duke on Thursday, February 26.

During the nonconference portion of its schedule, Georgia Tech hosts in-state rival Georgia at McCamish Pavilion on November 23. The Yellow Jackets travel to the prestigious Gulf Coast Showcase at the Germain Arena in Naples, Fla., from November 28-30. Georgia Tech will be joined by defending national champions Connecticut, Arizona State, College of Charleston, Green Bay, Minnesota, Villanova and Vanderbilt. The Jackets are on the road for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, traveling to Michigan State on Dec. 4 and host the Georgia Tech Holiday Tournament from Dec. 29-30.

“We are excited to have Notre Dame and Syracuse here on the Flats for the first time in history,” Joseph said. “We look forward to the Georgia Tech community supporting our home games against two of the top ACC programs.”

The Yellow Jackets open 2015 at ACC-newcomer Louisville on Friday, January 2. It will be the first meeting between the Yellow Jackets and the Cardinals. On Sunday, January 4, Tech returns home to play Clemson for the first of two times. The next two games will be on the road for the Jackets, for they make the trip up north to Boston College on Thursday, January 8 and then travel to North Carolina on Sunday, January 11.

On Sunday, January 18, the Yellow Jackets host Pittsburgh for only the second time in school history. The last time Pittsburgh traveled to the Flats was during the 1999 season.  Tech then has back-to-back road games at Notre Dame (Thursday, January 22) and at Virginia (Sunday, January 25).

The Jackets kick off a four-game home stand by hosting Florida State on Friday, January 30. Georgia Tech then welcomes Virginia Tech on Sunday, February 1.  The Jackets are back in action the following Sunday, when they host Syracuse for the first time in school history on February 8. A contest against N.C. State on Thursday, February 12 wraps up the four games at home.

Tech makes the trip down to Miami on Sunday, February 15, before returning home to host Notre Dame for the first time ever on the Flats on Thursday, February 19. The Jackets will make the short trip to Clemson on Sunday, February 22.

The Yellow Jackets’ final home game of 2015 will be on Thursday, February 26, against Duke.  The Jackets finish up the 2014-15 season on the road at Wake Forest on Saturday, February 28.

The 38th annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place Wednesday-Sunday, March 4-8 at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Championship will begin with three first-round games on Wednesday, followed by the second round, quarterfinals, semifinals and title contest in successive days. Game times and television designations will be announced at a later date.

Season tickets for the Yellow Jackets’ third season at McCamish Pavilion and the 12th year under head coach MaChelle Joseph are now on sale. Georgia Tech students are admitted free to all home games with their BuzzCard. On Sundays, all children 18 and under will be admitted free and are welcome to arrive early to enjoy Georgia Tech’s Kid Zone.
