ACC Women's Basketball Schedule Released

THE FLATS — Coming off a postseason run to the WNIT Championship game in 2016-17, the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team will face 18 opponents that reached post-season play last season in 2017-18. The Jackets will host 16 regular season opponents in McCamish Pavilion this season as the ACC office released the conference portion of the schedule on Thursday.

“We are excited about the opportunity to compete in the best women’s basketball conference in the country,” noted head coach MaChelle Joseph. “The ACC is as strong as it has ever been, and we look forward to the challenges we will face every night. It’s exciting for us to open at home against Louisville on December 28. With five seniors and a core nucleus of our team returning, we are very optimistic about our ability to become a factor in the ACC race this season.”

The Jackets will play 29 regular season games and one exhibition game during Joseph’s 15th season on The Flats. During the 16-game ACC portion of the schedule, Tech will play home-and-home series with Notre Dame and Clemson. Additionally, the Jackets will host Louisville, Wake Forest, Virginia, Boston College, North Carolina and Miami at McCamish Pavilion.

All 16 ACC tilts will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra with three appearing on Regional Sports Network (RSN). Tech’s three RSN contests occur in the final four games beginning with a trip to Notre Dame on Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. The Jackets’ final two regular season home games will be televised on RSN with a home tilt against Miami on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and a matchup at Florida State on Feb. 25 at 1 p.m.

Georgia Tech opens the ACC portion of the schedule with a two-game homestand, hosting Louisville on Dec. 28 followed by a New Year’s Eve contest against Clemson at 2 p.m. The Jackets open the New Year visiting Syracuse on Jan. 4 before returning to Atlanta to host Notre Dame on Jan. 7.

The Jackets then head back on the road for a pair of matchups at NC State on Jan. 10 and Pittsburgh on Jan. 14. Wake Forest visits McCamish Pavilion on Jan. 21 before Tech makes a trip to Virginia Tech on Jan. 25. Tech closes out the month hosting Virginia on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m.

Tech plays three of the next four games on the road, beginning with a two-game stretch to open February at Duke (Feb. 1) and Clemson (Feb. 4). A brief stay at home follows with the Jackets hosting Boston College on Feb. 8 before returning to the road for a tilt at Notre Dame on Feb. 11.

The Jackets play their final two home games of the regular season upon returning from Indiana to host North Carolina on Feb. 15 and Miami on Feb. 22. To close out the regular season, Tech heads to Florida State on Feb. 25.

The 41st annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is back in Greensboro, N.C., at the Greensboro Coliseum Wednesday, February 28-Sunday, March 4. RSN will carry the first, second and quarterfinal rounds, while the semifinals will be broadcast on ESPNU. ESPN2 will carry Sunday’s championship game.
