Softball Opens ACC Play At Virginia

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball begins Atlantic Coast Conference action this weekend, traveling to Charlottesville, Va. to take on the Virginia Cavaliers in its first ACC series of the 2018 season. The Jackets will play a three-game series slated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Week Four Recap:
The Jackets went 6-1 last week, moving to 11-7 overall. Senior Emily Anderson set the tone in the circle for the Jackets, making five appearances. Pitching 25.0 innings, the LaGrange, Ga. native allowed just one run and leads the ACC with an 0.98 ERA. She came away from the week with four wins and a save, including two shutouts.

Opponent info:
The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series with the Cavaliers 43-41. The two programs played a three-game series in Charlottesville, Va. last season in which Virginia came away with the series win but Tech took game one 10-5. The Cavaliers bring in an 8-14 record with a 0-1 mark at home.
