Georgia Tech Softball Adds Kanani Cabrales For 2014

April 18, 2013

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech softball team welcomes another addition to the 2014 roster in pitcher Kanani Cabrales of Lawrenceville, Ga., head coach Sharon Perkins announced Thursday.

“We are extremely excited to have Nani join our Yellow Jacket family,” Perkins said. “She has successfully pitched at a high level of travel ball and led her high school team to their first state title. She is also a power hitter that is a threat in the batter’s box. Nani is a program changer.”

Cabrales spent two years at Grayson High School before transferring to Archer High School. She is the 2012 Gwinnett County Pitcher of the Year, the 2012 Georgia Dugout Club Payer of the Year and the 2012 Gwinnett Daily Post Pitcher of the Year.

In her senior season, she led the Archer Tigers to the school’s first AAAAAA state title with an overall team record of 33-7. In the circle, Cabrales posted a 24-4 record and a 1.23 ERA with 184 strikeouts in 182 innings pitched.

At the plate, Cabrales posted a .405 batting average with 49 hits, 11 doubles, five home runs, 17 runs, 31 RBI and 22 walks.
