High School/Juniors: Ranked No. 33 nationally and No. 4 in the State of Georgia by TennisRecruiting.net... Played No. 2 singles as a freshman and sophomore at Centennial under Coach Chandler Deas... Played No. 1 singles as a junior and senior at Centennial under Coach Linda Jones...Was captain for one year... Did not lose a singles match in four years... Helped Centennial reach team state championship match in 2009 and 2010... Earned the Coaches' Award in 2009 and Team MVP in 2011... Outside of athletics, was a member of the honor roll, was a student council representative and FCA leader.
Personal: Born Sept. 27, 1993 in Lawrenceville, Ga... Parents are Ray and LeAnn Kurey... Has two siblings, a sister Emily and brother Joseph... Father played tennis at West Virginia from 1984-88 and grandfather, Joseph Kurey, played tennis at Bethany College... Chose Georgia Tech because of the great education, the tennis program and the proximity to home... Started playing tennis at about age seven with her father... Plans to major in management.
