Renaud, Hourigan Earn NCAA Singles Bids

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Subcommittee has selected the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams that will compete in the 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championships, and Georgia Tech will have two singles representatives and one doubles pairing.

Johnnise Renaud and Paige Hourigan were selected for singles competition, while the pairing of Kendal Woodard and Hourigan will compete in the 32-team doubles field.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 25-30 at the Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla., following the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 19-24. The University of Tulsa will serve as host.

Renaud, a sophomore from North Miami, Fla., has a record of 14-8 in dual matches this season, including 9-8 at No. 1 singles and 5-0 at No. 2 singles. She is currently 32nd in the ITA rankings.

Hourigan, a sophomore from Turakina, New Zealand, has amassed a record of 14-6 in dual matches this season, including 10-3 at No. 2 singles and 11-2 in conference play. She is currently ranked as the No. 44 singles player in the country. In doubles, Hourigan and partner Kendal Woodard have an 18-3 record in dual matches and are ranked 12th nationally.
