Three Yellow Jackets Selected To Women's Tennis All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Three Georgia Tech women's tennis players have been named to the 2011 All-ACC Academic Team, announced Thursday by ACC Commissioner John Swofford.

Junior Lynn Blau, an industrial engineering major, earned her second All-ACC Academic team selection while classmates Caroline Lilley, a management major, and Viet Ha Ngo, an economics and international affairs major, each earned their first ACC academic accolade.

Student-athletes must have earned a 3.00 GPA during the spring semester and own the same cumulative mark to be eligible for selection to the All-ACC Academic team.

"At Georgia Tech, we have a tradition of academic excellence, and these three young ladies did a great job in the classroom and on the court this past season," head coach Bryan Shelton said. "I have no doubt they will continue to be successful in all of their future endeavors because of their outstanding work ethic."

Blau, a Koerich, Luxembourg, native, posted a 23-17 overall record in 2011, playing mostly from the No. 4 position in the lineup, and tallied an 8-3 mark in conference matches. Blau also went 21-15 in doubles action during the season.

Lilley, a junior in her first season at Georgia Tech after transferring from Kentucky, posted a 17-7 overall record, including an impressive 9-2 record in ACC matches, and finished the season ranked No. 104 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis rankings. Lilley was 10-5 from the No. 2 spot in the lineup and 5-0 from the third position. Lilley added 24-11 mark in doubles play. Lilley teamed with Jillian O'Neill to post an 8-1 doubles record and rose to No. 15 in the final rankings.

Ngo earned her first All-ACC Academic selection after tallying a 22-16 singles mark playing from all three of the top positions of the lineup, and added an 18-11 overall doubles mark
