Yellow Jackets Set for Bulldog Classic
Georgia Tech women’s tennis heads to Athens this weekend for the Bulldog
THE FLATS – After a successful opening fall weekend at the Hall of Fame/ITA Grass Court Invitational, the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will continue fall competition traveling to Athens for the Bulldog Classic. The three-day round-robin singles and doubles event will be played at the Athens Country Club beginning Friday.
Comprising the field this weekend will be Texas Tech, Georgia State, Georgia Tech and the host Georgia. Action begins Friday at 10 a.m. with the Yellow Jackets taking on Texas Tech in singles play. Doubles action will get underway around 1:30 p.m.
Play on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 8 a.m. each day.

Three Jackets were featured in the ITA Preseason Rankings. Junior Johnnise Renaud entered the preseason singles rankings at No. 20, while classmate Paige Hourigan came in at No. 23. Senior Rasheeda McAdoo checked in at No. 77. The doubles tandem of Hourigan/McAdoo enters the preseason ranked No. 35.
Last Time Out
Georgia Tech opened the 2016 fall season at the Hall of Fame/ITA Grass Court Invitational in Newport, R.I. last weekend competing on grass for the first time. The Yellow Jackets posted a combined 11-7 record on the weekend in singles play and went 3-3 in doubles action. All four freshmen made the trek and each picked up their first collegiate win as Nadia Gizdova, Kenya Jones and Nami Otsuka all went 2-1 on the weekend. Seniors Rasheeda McAdoo and Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer each posted 2-1 singles records on the weekend.
Up next, Johnnise Renaud and Paige Hourigan will travel to Pacific Palisades, California for the Riviera/ITA All-American beginning Oct. 1.
