Sophomore Paige Hourigan and senior Kendal Woodard head out west to Pacific Palisades, Calif., to compete in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American championships this week.

Jon Cooper of The Good Word previewed the upcoming trip for the two Yellow Jackets here.

Hourigan, who is ranked as the No. 35 singles player in the preseason ITA rankings, was selected for the qualifying singles draw, which begins Tuesday. The Turakina, New Zealand, native will play Texas’ Breaunna  Addison, the No. 48 singles player, in the first round of the qualifying singles bracket at 3:30 p.m. ET. Hourigan has been named a 9-16 seed.

On Thursday, Woodard will join Hourigan on the west coast to compete in the main draw of doubles. The duo has been tabbed the number seven doubles team in the preseason rankings. Woodard is no stranger to the Riviera/ITA All-American tournament, having competed in it as a sophomore alongside of Megan Kurey. The tandem finished as runners up in the consolation doubles draw before heading on to the ITA Southeast Regionals, winning the doubles title there and then capturing the ITA National Indoors Doubles Championship a few weeks later.

Last season, Hourigan received an at-large bid to the NCAA Singles Championship while Hourigan and Woodard received and at-large bid to the NCAA Doubles Championship. The Jackets suffered first round defeats in both singles and doubles.
