Zimmerman, Hightower Set Career Bests at Tiger Tuneup

CLEMSON, S.C. — Georgia Tech track and field sent three pole vaulters to Clemson for the Tiger Tuneup on Saturday. Anna Hightower and Sarah Zimmerman registered career bests at the meet.

Hightower, Zimmerman and Ksenia Novikova went to Clemson to compete in the last chance meet. Novikova and Hightower registered the top marks for the Jackets on the day. The pair both cleared 3.75m, a career best for Hightower.

Zimmerman also posted a career-best mark of 3.60 for a sixth-place finish.

Up next for the Jackets is championship season. Tech heads to South Bend, Ind. for the 2017 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Competition starts on Thursday, Feb 23 and wraps up on Feb. 25.
