Georgia Tech Volleyball sophomore Quinn Evans sat down with Brittany Roderick of RamblinWreck.com to preview week at FSU and Miami.
2010: Did not play.
High School: Four-year letter winner and two time MVP and captain at Alamo Heights High School ... On the prepvolleyball.com 2010 list of "Senior Aces" ... In 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 led team in both blocks and kill percentage while helping to win a district championship in 2007 and 2008 ... In 2006, became the first freshman in school history to earn a varsity letter ... Went on to be a four-year starter and two-time team captain ... Named to the all-state team in 2008 and 2009, as well as all-state academic team in 2009... Three-time, first-team all-district and all-district academic selection ... Was on the "Soph 79" and "Frosh 59" teams by prepvolleyball.com and has been a three-time San Antonio Express "High School Player to Watch" ... In 2007, had the third highest kills percentage (.431) of any player in the San Antonio area and was invited to the USA Volleyball High Performance Developmental Camp ... Has played with the Alamo Kaepa club team and helped lead her team to 23rd-place finish in 2010 at Junior Nationals in the Open Division ... In 2009 as team captain, she helped her team to a second place finish at AAU Nationals and a 15th place finish at Junior Nationals Open Division ... Also lettered in basketball and track ... Has excelled in the classroom having been on the honor roll all four years and is a two-time member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Quinn Marie Evans is the daughter of Mark and Jenny Evans ... Born Nov. 5, 1991 ... Has one sibling, Sloan, who is a varsity junior OH/RS for Alamo Heights High school ... Is fluent in Spanish and was a member of the first class in the Spanish Immersion Program at Alamo Heights ISD ... From first through fifth grades, all her core classes were taught in Spanish only ... In Junior High and High School, two classes were taught in Spanish ... BSBA major.
