ATHENS, Ga.  – In second-year head coach Michelle Collier’s first trip to Athens, Ga., the Georgia Tech volleyball team (6-1) swept Georgia (4-2) to win the Georgia Challenge on Friday night at the Ramsey Center. It marked the first sweep of the Bulldogs since 2011.

How It Happened
Set one was a back-and-forth battle with eight tied scores and three lead changes. The Jackets dug deep and found the momentum to win 25-22.

Tech took the lead at 4-3 and clung on for the rest of the second set to win 25-21. The Yellow Jackets kept the momentum strong in game three and put the set and match away 25-21.

Quote
‘We knew it had to be a team effort,” Collier said. “We had a lot of players step up. Usually, Annika and Teegan Van Gunst are leading our offense, and tonight we had Ashley Askin and Sydney Wilson step up. I thought Lauren Pitz had a great game. We were very consistent with our serve and serve receive, and hats off to them to stay consistent and distribute the ball.”
