Mead And Clark-Bibbs Earn All-ACC Accolades
Mead earned fourth-straight All-ACC honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Monique Mead was named to the 2012 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team and freshman Chanell Clark-Bibbs was selected to the All-Freshman Team the ACC announced Wednesday. The awards were decided based on a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches.
Mead earned the honor all four years of her career, making her just the 13th player in ACC history and fourth player at Tech to accomplish the feat, joining former Yellow Jackets Andrea Nachtrieb, Cris Omiecinski and Lynnette Moster.
The Newnan, Ga. native led the team this season with 459 kills, 56 serving aces and 562 points. Her 3.96 kills per set average was second in the ACC, and she led the league and was No. 7 nationally with .48 serving aces per game.
In her senior season, she became the all-time leader in career kills at Georgia Tech with 1,918, eclipsed 1,000 career digs and reached the 2,000-point mark. She is in the top 10 in six career categories, two single-match and three season record lists.
Clark-Bibbs earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team after averaging 0.88 blocks per set and tallying 10 solo stuffs; both were the second-most on the team. The Houston native averaged 1.80 kills per set and hit at a .258 clip. She recorded double-digit kills in four matches and put down at least two blocks in 15 of 19 total matches played.
