2010 Cross Country:
Earned her first career victory at the UGA vs. GT Dual Meet in a hurrying 18:01...Top finisher for Tech at the Greater Louisville XC Classic with a time of 17:40 and 24th place finish...Finished 4th with a time of 17:22 at the Royal Cross Country Challenge...Top Yellow Jacket finisher at the 2010 ACC championships with a time of 21:06 and a 23rd place finisher...named to the All South Region team when she finished 13th in 20:31 at the NCAA South Regionals.
2009 Cross Country:
ACC Academic Honor Roll ... Led Tech in each of the five races that she competed in on the season ... earned All-South Region honors with a 22nd place finish at the NCAA South Regional Championships for the second-straight season ... Came in second place with a season best 5k time of 18:03 at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, N.C. ... posted a team-best 46th place performance at the ACC Championships.
2008 Cross Country:
All-ACC Academic Team ... Led Tech in all six races competed in on the season ... earned All-South Region honors while finishing 22nd with a time of 21:42 in the 6K at the 2008 NCAA South Regional Championships ... posted an identical result of 21:42 in the 6K at the 2008 ACC Championships while finishing 31st ... ran a 17:07 while finishing 17th in the 5K at the Auburn Invitational.
High School:
Three-time all-state in track & field (2007 & 08) and two-time all-state in cross country (`07 & 08) ... cross country individual State Champion in 2007 ... 4A track & field State Champion in 1600m and 3200m ... 2007 Gatorade South Carolina Cross Country Athlete of the Year ... named High School Sports Report Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2007 and 4A track & field Runner of the Year in 2008 ... high school record-holder in the 1600m and the 3200m ... only the second female runner in South Carolina history to break the 5-minute mark in the 1600m ... participated in the 2007 Cross Country Shrine Bowl Run ... two-year point guard and captain of her high school basketball team ... National Honor Society and Spanish Club ... graduated in the top four percent of her class.
Personal: Full name is Mary Kate DuBard ... born Oct. 7, 1990 in Rock Hill, S.C.... daughter of Rocky and Karen DuBard ... uncle David Douglas played football at the University of Tennessee (1981-1985) and in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots ... cousin Aaron Douglas currently plays football at the University of Tennessee ... chose to attend Georgia Tech because of the academics, athletics and school atmosphere as a whole ... plans to major in Engineering.
