Communications

The Georgia Tech Athletics Communications and Public Relations Office acts as the chief liaison between the Yellow Jackets' athletic programs, the media and the public. Primarily, the staff is responsible for serving the needs of the media, coaches, student-athletes, supporters and fans.

The Communications and Public Relations office devotes countless hours to facilitating interview requests between local, regional and national media outlets and Yellow Jacket coaches and student-athletes. At the same time, the staff works closely with these student-athletes and coaches to help promote and assist in the coverage of Georgia Tech Athletics. The Communications and Public Relations Office provides media members with biographical information on coaches and student-athletes, historical and statistical information and photographs, while also generating content for our official website, social media channels and other digital platforms, printed game programs and media guides.

The main purpose of this page is to assist the media in coverage of Georgia Tech Athletics. If the desired information is not available on this page or the sport's home page, please contact the Communications and Public Relations office at (404) 894-5445.

MEDIA CREDENTIAL POLICIES

Season credential badges with photo ID are created and issued to members of the local media who cover Georgia Tech athletics events on a regular basis. Otherwise, single-game credentials are issued.

For Georgia Tech football games, please make requests for working press, photo, broadcast and accredited professional scouting credentials via e-mail to assistant athletics director Mike Flynn or to associate director of communications Mike Stamus. For men's basketball games, all requests should go to Mike Stamus.

For credentials to events in other sports, press services and parking information, please contact the appropriate communications contact listed below, as these services vary by sport and facility.

For football games, credentials are held at Media Will Call, located at the main ticket windows at 150 Bobby Dodd Way, outside the North End of Bobby Dodd Stadium. Credentials will not be mailed. The press box is accessible through Gate 1 (from North Avenue) or Gate 4 (from Bobby Dodd Way) and by taking one of the two elevators to the fourth level. Work space is available in the press box for media and photographers. Professional scouts will also be accommodated in the press box while space is available.

Limited media parking is available in the Centennial Olympic Park lot south of the stadium across North Avenue. Requests should be made well in advance along with your credential request. Approved parking passes will be e-mailed. The COP entrance is located on Centennial Olympic Park Drive just south of the North Avenue intersection.

For men's basketball games, credentials are held at Media Will Call, located outside the West Entrance to McCamish Pavilion on Fowler Street (to the left when facing the gate from the plaza). Credentials will not be mailed. To access the press box and the post-game interview area, take a right just inside the West Entrance and proceed up the staircase. The press box is in section 211 to the left, and the interview room is the first right. There is no press seating on the floor except for radio and television announcers.

Limited media parking is available in Peters Parking Deck, entrance located at the intersection of Fowler and Fourth Streets, three blocks south of McCamish Pavilion.

The press areas at Bobby Dodd Stadium (football), McCamish Pavilion (basketball), Russ Chandler Stadium (baseball), Mewborn Field (softball) and O'Keefe Gym (volleyball) all have reliable functioning wireless internet access. Connection information is available to the media on-site at each event.

All coach and student-athlete interview requests should be directed to the appropriate communications contact for each sport. Coaches and players are normally available for post-game interviews at a location arranged by the communications contact approximately 10 minutes after each contest. Media members should inform the athletics communications contact which players are requested for post-game interviews. For post-game interviews with opponents, please contact the communications contact representing the visiting team. For all other non-gameday interviews, please contact the communications sports contact to arrange a convenient time for all parties.

Media events and availabilities around practices or at other times will be communicated to members of the media.

Practices for football and men's basketball are generally closed with certain exceptions. Please contact the appropriate communications contact for each sport to find out policies for media attending practices.

Biographical information on current and former student-athletes, statistics from current and past years, rosters and scheduled past and present are located within the appropriate sports pages on Georgia Tech's official athletics website, Ramblinwreck.com.

Media information guides and record books are also posted in PDF format. A limited number of printed guides for football, basketball and baseball are furnished to radio and TV broadcasters and selected local media.
