The ticket offer is available to all Georgia Tech fans, including students.

"The response from our fans for this special ticket offer has been very good," associate athletics director Wayne Hogan said. "In just six days we have sold nearly 3,500 tickets and are approaching our goal of having at least 5,000 Yellow Jacket fans in Shreveport."

The AdvoCare V100 Indpendence Bowl, Georgia Tech's 39th bowl game, is Dec. 27th in Shreveport, La. The Yellow Jackets will take on the Air Force Academy at Independence Stadium. The game begins at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT and will be televised by ESPN2.

The Independence Bowl has potential to be one of the best bowls of the pre-January bowl season. Georgia Tech and Air Force rank one-two nationally in rushing offense.

"When fans go online to purchase tickets there is an option to donate tickets, which is fine," Hogan said. "But our main goal is to have Yellow Jackets in the stands supporting our team.

"With Christmas around the corner, tickets make for perfect gifts or stocking stuffers."
