The Georgia Tech IMG Sports Network: Jackets Basketball is On The Air
The Yellow Jacket Radio Network is a production of IMG College, America's Leader in College Sports. With offices around the nation and right inside Bobby Dodd Stadium, IMG College proudly presents another year of exciting Georgia Tech Basketball again in 2011. GO JACKETS!
Once again, WQXI-AM, "Sportstalk 790 The Zone," is the Atlanta AM flagship for Georgia Tech football and basketball. Also returning to the network for the 2011 season is True Oldies 106.7 WYAY-FM to provide complete FM coverage , covering much of the state of Georgia. An additional 32+ stations make up the Yellow Jacket Radio Network, carrying a heavy schedule of game broadcasts for football and basketball as well as the weekly live coaches call-in shows.
The radio broadcast team for Yellow Jacket basketball is headlined by popular play-by-play announcer Wes Durham, the Voice of the Yellow Jackets since 1995.
Durham, who also serves as Director of Broadcasting for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, is a five-time selection as the Sportscaster of the Year in the state of Georgia and the recipient of the "Furman Bisher Award" from the Atlanta Sports Council. He is also the radio voice of the Atlanta Falcons.
Joining Durham on the broadcast is Randy Waters. Waters is in his 16th year on the network. Waters is the morning sports anchor for 11 Alive News Today. A native of Coshocton, Ohio, Waters has received numerous Emmy awards since coming to this market in 1984. The graduate of Ashland College has also worked in Pittsburgh, Louisville and Lexington, Ky.
The basketball broadcast team also includes veteran engineer and producer Miller Pope.
Back at the IMG College football studios in Winston-Salem, NC, the Georgia Tech Radio Network is anchored by studio host Alex Vispoli, who is back for his second year on the Yellow Jacket broadcast crew.
