Bobby Dodd Stadium - New Clear Bag Policy

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into Georgia Tech Athletic Association facilities, the GTAA will implement a policy beginning with the 2018-2019 academic year that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into stadiums/arenas. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a 4.5' x 6.5" clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, grocery bags, cinch bags, non-approved chair backs and seat cushions**, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. Clear Bag Policy

To ease congestion at the gates, please review the following lists regarding what is and isn't allowed inside the gates/doors at Georgia Tech sports venues other than Bobby Dodd Stadium. These venues include:

  • McCamish Pavilion
  • Mewborn Field
  • O'Keefe Gymnasium
  • Russ Chandler Stadium

*A list of all banned items is also posted at stadium gates

The following items ARE permitted through gates/doors at Georgia Tech sports venues:
  • Baby food (with child in arms)
  • Cameras (lens must be smaller than 4")
  • Small diaper bags (*Except at Bobby Dodd Stadium)Georgia Tech Football
  • Game Tickets
  • White/Gold pom-poms
  • White/Gold Shirts
  • Seat Cushions
  • Umbrellas (*EXCEPT at Bobby Dodd Stadium)
  • Bags & Backpacks (Smaller than 14" x 10" x 5") (*EXCEPT at Bobby Dodd Stadium)
  • Service Animals
  • Binoculars
  • Banners, signs & flags (no larger than 3' x 5')
  • Empty water bottles (that can be filled inside the stadium at water fountains)
  • Blankets
  • Stadium Seats without arms
  • Medical Assistance Devices
  • Diaper Bags (*EXCEPT at Bobby Dodd Stadium)
  • Breast Pumps & Supplies

For reasons of safety, the following items are NOT PERMITTED in Georgia Tech sports venues:
  • Beverages
  • Food
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Cans
  • Coolers
  • Thermos bottles
  • TVs
  • Ice bags
  • Large bags (larger than 14 by 10 by 5 inches)
  • Horns or other noisemakers
  • Laser pointers
  • Video cameras
  • Cameras with lenses longer than 4"
  • Pets
  • Weapons
  • Strollers
  • Stadium seats with arms
  • Umbrellas
  • Any other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by security or game management.

Please note: In keeping with current Homeland Security restrictions, Georgia Tech does not allow strollers or umbrellas to be left inside the gate entrances at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Holding pens for these items can be found adjacent to the entrances at Gates 4 and 9 of Bobby Dodd.

Bag Check: All bags will be searched upon entry into Bobby Dodd Stadium and McCamish Pavilion. NO bags larger than 14 by 10 by 5 inches will be permitted into McCamish Pavilion.
