McCamsih Premiere Weekend

GEORGIA TECH PREMIERE WEEKEND

Nov. 9 and 11

 

Georgia Tech will officially open the brand new McCamish Pavilion the weekend of Nov. 9. The Yellow Jacket men's team under head coach Brian Gregory will take on the Tulane Green Wave at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 while women's head coach MaChelle Joseph will lead her team against perennial power Tennessee in a 2 p.m. game on Sunday, Nov. 11. Both teams are excited about coming back to The Flats for the 2012-13 campaign, and have special events planned surrounding the premiere weekend.

Single-game tickets for both games are available online here or by calling 888-TECH-TIX. Tickets to the Yellow Jackets' men's game can be purchased for just $25 while tickets to the women's game can be bought for only $10. A special combination ticket allowing fans to see the historic first games for both the men's and women's games can be purchased for only $30.

Only a limited number of tickets remain so plan to be a part of all the historical moments of the weekend today!

 

Men's Basketball Special Events - 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9

  • Head coach Brian Gregory and former Yellow Jacket mentor Bobby Cremins are bringing back more than 100 former Yellow Jacket players, including Kenny Anderson, Drew Barry, Jon Barry, Travis Best, Bruce Dalrymple, Matt Harpring, Malcolm Mackey, John Salley, Brian Oliver and Rich Yunkus, and many more!
  • Every fan in attendance will receive a free t-shirt, courtesy of Chevron.
  • Fans can take their game ticket to Hudson Grille for a buy one entree, get one free offer.
  • All fans will receive a free commemorative game ticket, courtesy of the Georgia Lottery.
  • All fans will receive a voucher for a free meal at McDonald's.

Women's Basketball Special Events - 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11.

The Yellow Jackets' women's basketball team will be celebrating several special anniversaries when they take on national powerhouse Tennessee:

  • 60 Years of Women at Tech: Along with Georgia Tech first lady Val Peterson, the Yellow Jackets will be celebrating 60 years of women at Georgia Tech.
  • 40 Years of Title IX: Georgia Tech will recognize several women who played prominent roles in the advancement of women's athletics since the inception of Title IX in 1972.
  • 20 Years since NWIT title: Georgia Tech will celebrate 20 years since the Yellow Jackets won the 1992 National Women's Invitation Tournament.
  • Tipoff of the 10th Year of the head coach MaChelle Joseph tenure on the Flats.
  • Nell On Wheels: The festivities will begin outside the west entrance to McCamish Pavilion at noon with the launch of "Nell on Wheels," a women's college basketball traveling pre-game show. The first 500 fans will receive a free t-shirt.
  • The Tennessee game is Georgia Tech's NCAA "Pack The House" Challenge.
  • The first 1,000 fans in the game will receive a free t-shirt.
  • Fans can take their game ticket to Hudson Grille for a buy one entree, get one free offer.
  • All fans will receive a free commemorative game ticket, courtesy of the Georgia Lottery.
  • All fans will receive a voucher for a free meal at McDonald's.
