Could be one of the top inside linebackers in the ACC this fall… a relentless player with a knack for reading the play and being in on every tackle… excels in run support because of his vision and anticipation… overcomes his limited size with intensity and a real passion for the game… has, at times, played on special teams… has been outstanding on the kickoff coverage team where head coach Paul Johnson called him a [quote]heat-seeking missile[quote]… played as a true freshman in Tech[apos]s 2009 ACC championship season… has already racked up 130 career tackles in just two seasons… has outstanding strength (Squat: 600; Bench: 460; Power clean: 350).

2010 (Sophomore): Led the team in tackles (89) despite beginning the season as a non-starter… played in all 13 games and started the final eight games of the year… played sparingly in September when he excelled on special teams… helped create four turnovers — two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception… came off the bench to record 10 tackles and a tackle for loss at Wake Forest (Oct. 2)… had eight tackles (seven solo tackles), a tackle for loss and his first career interception in the win over Middle Tennessee State (Oct. 16)… registered 10 tackles at Clemson (Oct. 23)… had a career-high 13 tackles at Virginia Tech (Nov. 4)… registered 11 tackles in the win over Duke (Nov. 20)… closed the season by matching his career high with 13 tackles against Air Force in the Independence Bowl.

2009 (Freshman)
Saw action in 13 games and started three games as a true freshman… missed one game because of injury… showed outstanding potential… ranked seventh on the team in total tackles (41)… had 1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks… recorded three tackles and a tackle for loss in the FedEx Orange Bowl vs. Iowa (Jan. 5)… had six solo tackles and seven total tackles at Duke (Nov. 14)… recorded three tackles before suffering a knee injury vs. Virginia Tech (Oct. 17)… did not play at Virginia because of the injury (Oct. 24)…. made his first career start vs. North Carolina (Sept. 26)…. also started at Mississippi State (Oct. 3) and against Iowa in the Orange Bowl… had four solo tackles at Miami (Sept. 17)… began his career on a solid note, recording a team-high nine tackles and a half-sack in his first collegiate game, vs. Jacksonville State (Sept. 5).

High School
Westside High School… Middle Georgia player of the year (Macon Telegraph)… GHSA 4A Defensive Player of the Year… first team all-state GHSA and AJC… ranked #46 for his position by Scout and #49 by ESPN… finished with 170 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three interceptions (two returned for TDs), four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries (one returned for TD) in 2008… rushed for 13 touchdowns… had a school-record 546 career tackles… led Westside to a regional championship in 2008… played for coach Robert Davis, earning four varsity letters and serving two years as team captain.
