THE BASICS:
· Matt Gonzalez and Keenan Innis each had two hits but No. 24 Georgia Tech dropped a 6-1 decision at Boston College on Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
· The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 24-14 overall and 9-11 in the ACC, while the Eagles improved to 20-18, 8-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· BC grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third and tacked on three insurance runs in the fourth in support of starter John Gorman.
· Gorman tossed seven strong innings, allowing seven hits and one run with eight strikeouts and no walks to improve (4-2).
· Tech left runners stranded in each of the first three innings as Gorman worked around the trouble to keep the Jackets at arm's length.
· Cole Pitts was hung the loss (0-4), but was backed by just one run of support in his five innings on the mound.
· Johnny Adams' two-run single with two outs highlighted the Eagles' three-run fourth inning and Joe Cronin followed next inning with a solo home to left.
· After Kel Johnson's RBI grounder put Tech on the board in the sixth and made it 5-1, BC got the run back in the home half to cap the scoring.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· Johnson was in the starting lineup for the first time since March 21 versus North Carolina. He finished 0-for-4 with an RBI.
· Innis and Gonzalez were each 2-for-4, while Daniel Spingola and Ryan Peurifoy each collected doubles for Tech.
· Freshman LHP Daniel Gooden, who underwent Tommy John surgery during his senior year of high school, made his collegiate debut on the mound by tossing an inning of relief with a strikeout and an unearned run.
