> Top-10 national prep senior who made an immediate impact on the Yellow Jackets' fortunes as a freshman small forward, helping lead Tech to a 20-12 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2007 ... Declared for the NBA draft in May following the season ... Showed ability to hit the three-point shot and score inside ... Also an excellent offensive rebounder who posted double digits in the boards four times ... Worked hard on improving his defense and ballhandling skills ... Has long arms, toughness and grit, unafraid to post up, and can guard on the perimeter well.
2006-07
> Tied for the team scoring lead at 14.4 points a game, ranked 15th in the ACC, third among the league's freshmen ... Reached double-figures in all but six games, and scored 20 or more six times.
> Averaged 13.1 ppg vs. the ACC, 13.9 without the Dec. 3 game at Miami when he played only briefly due to tendinitis in his knee (sat out the Penn State game on Nov. 28).
> Played very well over Tech's five games prior to the NCAA Tournament, averaging 19.4 points and 5.0 rebounds while hitting 50 percent of his field goals and 50 percent of his threes ... Scored a career-high 30 points, 23 of them after halftime, in Tech's double-OT loss to Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament, and 25 against North Carolina on Mar. 1.
> Stayed around 50 percent from the floor all year, finishing at 47.8, and was excellent from three-point range (41.9 pct. in all games, 41.3 pct. vs. the ACC).
> Had four 10-rebound games this season (four double-doubles), matching the total of Tech's post players, and led the Jackets in rebounding eight times ... Had 72 offensive rebounds among his 151 total, the best ratio among Tech's players.
> Consistently contributed points, but also passed the ball well (Tech's second-leading assist man with 2.1 per game, 2.4 vs. ACC).
> Averaged 12.3 points and 6.0 rebounds a game in Maui ... Shot 40.6 percent from the floor and 2-of-6 from three-point range ... Pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked two shots while scoring 13 points against Purdue (6-12 FG).

> Five-star prospect from Mitchell High School in Memphis, where he was coached by Jerry Johnson ... Named to the McDonald's All-America team and was a second-team Parade All-American ... > Led Mitchell to the Class AA state finals in 2006, averaging 26.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 4.3 steals and 3.6 blocks per game as a senior ... Scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting in the 2006 McDonald's All-American Game in San Diego, and scored 11 points at the Nike Hoop Summit in Memphis ... Poured in 28 at the Jordan Classic All-American Game in New York and earned MVP honors ...
