Coming off a rookie campaign in which he started more games (11) than any Yellow Jacket receiver... part of what may be the deepest corps of wide receivers Tech has had in several years... nearly shed his redshirt as a true freshman in 2012... will get to play against his hometown school, Georgia Southern, Sept. 13.

2014 (redshirt sophomore): Played in all 13 games, starting seven ...Started against Wofford, Tulane, Georgia Southern, Virginia Tech, Miami and Florida State ...Had five receptions for 34 yards ...Had one catch for five yards vs. Duke (Oct. 11) .... Hauled in two catches for 14 yards vs. Miami ...Had two receptions for 15 yards against Wofford (Aug. 30) in the season opener.

2013 (redshirt freshman): Played in all 13 games and started 11 times... had 10 receptions for 211 yards (21.1 ypa), helping Georgia Tech lead the nation in yards per pass completion... had two rushing attempts for 19 yards... got his career off to a fantastic start with three receptions for 79 yards in the season opener vs. Elon (Aug. 31)... hauled in a 49-yard reception at BYU (Oct. 12)... had three receptions for 24 yards and one 11-yard rushing attempt at Clemson (Nov. 14)... caught two passes for 23 yards vs. Georgia (Nov. 30).

2012 (true freshman): Redshirted.

High School: Statesboro HS...played for head coach Steve Pennington... rated with three stars and ranked No. 85 at the safety position by Scout... played both sides of the ball... totaled over 1,400 yards of total offense and scored 13 touchdowns... a first team all-region pick... played in Georgia North-South All-Star Game.

Personal: Full name is Micheal Wayne Summers, Jr... son of Micheal and Vivian Summers... born Jan. 24, 1994 in Augusta, Ga... has a sister Jasmyne... his father played football at South Carolina State (1984-88) and in the NFL for the Colts (1988-89)... lifelong friends with Tech teammate, Freddie Burden...grew up in the shadows of Georgia Southern, where Paul Johnson won a pair of national championships... his cousin Michael Johnson is a 1999 Tech graduate... was taught basic football fundamentals by his dad at age six... majoring in business administration.
