A solid back-up at outside linebacker and a frequent member of special teams for four seasons... was versatile enough to play almost any position on defense... has a good mix of size and speed.
2012 (senior): Played in seven games and made one start... recorded eight tackles (six solo tackles)... had two tackles for loss and had a team-best two fumble recoveries... recorded three tackles, including two solo tackles, against Virginia (Sept. 15)... recorded a tackle for loss against his hometown team, Miami (Sept. 22)... recorded a pair of tackles including a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery vs. Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 29).
2011 (junior): Played in all 13 games and started at outside linebacker in the win over Maryland... also saw significant action on special teams... recorded nine tackles on the season, 1.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks... came off the bench for two tackles vs. Kansas (Sept. 17)... recorded three tackles and a sack for a loss of 10 yards in a key road win at NC State (Oct. 1)... started and had a tackle vs. Maryland (Oct. 8).
2010 (sophomore): Saw action in five games -- the first five games of the season... most of his action came on special teams. 2009 (redshirt freshman): Played in 12 games as a back-up at linebacker and a contributor on special teams... recorded five tackles and a forced fumble... missed two late season games with an injury... recorded a career-high three tackles in the first game of his career, vs. Jacksonville State (Sept. 5)... also had tackles at Virginia (Oct. 24) and at Vanderbilt (Oct. 31).
2008 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Earned three letters in football at Coral Reef High... earned one letter in track in the 200- and 400-meters... named to the Florida Times-Union Super 75... the No. 36-ranked outside linebacker prospect according to Rivals... ranked by Rivals as the No. 42 prospect in the state of Florida... one of Tech's highest-rated recruits by ESPN... invited to play in the Dade County North-South All-Star Game... earned numerous local awards including the Miami Herald's Dade Top 25, top defensive lineman (team award) and all-camp team... nominated for the National Honor Society.
Personal: Chose Tech because of the football program, campus atmosphere, academics, the defensive scheme, and the opportunity to excel off the field... given name is Malcolm Shakajamal Munroe... born March 12, 1990 in Miami... has three siblings... brother, Dorian, played safety at Florida... father, Norman, captained his collegiate cricket team in England... has an uncle who served in government in Guyana... majoring in business administration.
