Tech football may lack A-list superstars, but the Jackets have depth at most positions
A linebacker who gets better each season... expects to be a solid part of the linebacker rotation in 2013... saw action in 2011 as a true freshman... has a great deal of potential... possesses good speed.
2012 (sophomore): Played in all 14 games... recorded five tackles, including four solo tackles... had solo tackles in each of the first two games of the season -- at Virginia Tech (Sept. 3) and vs. Presbyterian (Sept. 8)... had a solo tackle against his hometown school, Miami (Sept. 29)... recorded a tackle vs. USC in the Hyundai Sun Bowl (Dec. 31).
2011 (true freshman): Played in 10 games as a back-up at linebacker and a contributor on special teams... recorded four tackles on the season, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks... produced two tackles (1 solo) in his first collegiate game, vs. Western Carolina (Sept. 1)... had a half-tackle for loss vs. Kansas (Sept. 17)... recorded his first career sack in a key ACC win vs. Maryland (Oct. 8).
High School: Belen Jesuit Prep... earned three varsity letters playing outside linebacker and defensive end for coach Richard Stuart... served as a team captain... part of 2010 team that won district title... led 2009 team to state championship game and a regional championship... a two-time all-state selection... recorded 61 tackles as a senior... served as a team captain in the Dade-Broward All-Star Game... invited to play in Florida's North-South All-Star Game... also earned two varsity letters in track and field (sprints, shot put) and two letters in baseball (outfield)... was part of a highly-successful track team... part of the 4x100 relay team that set a state record.
