Broncos Pick Adam Gotsis in NFL Draft

April 29, 2016

CHICAGO – With the final pick of the second round, the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos selected defensive tackle Adam Gotsis. A three-year starter on The Flats, the Australian native twice earned All-ACC honors and was one of the team’s three permanent captains last season.

Gotsis was picked 63rd overall and joins Jeremiah Attaochu (50th overall in 2014) and Stephen Hill (43rd in 2012) as recent second round picks from Georgia Tech. The last Broncos pick from Georgia Tech was Demaryius Thomas in 2010 (22nd overall). Gotsis joins Thomas and Vance Walker as Yellow Jacket alums on the Denver roster.

I appreciate all the support and love from everyone along the road! This is the next chapter! #BroncosCountry

Appearing in 48 games, Gotsis recorded 110 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 27.5 tackles for loss during his career. His senior campaign was cut short by a knee injury, and his workouts were limited at the NFL Combine and Georgia Tech’s Pro Day in recent months.

Gotsis becomes the 17th NFL Draft pick under Paul Johnson. Gotsis graduated last December with a degree in Business Administration.
