October 28, 2000 - Georgia Tech vs. Clemson
  • The win over 4th-ranked Clemson marks the highest ranked team Georgia Tech has beaten since defeating No. 1-ranked Virginia on Nov. 3, 1990, also on the road.
  • Georgia Tech defeated Clemson by three points for the fourth straight year. The last five meetings have been decided by three points.
  • Georgia Tech has won four in a row over Clemson for the first time since 1970-71-72-73.
  • Sophomore defensive end GREG GATHERS recorded his 10th and 11th sacks of the season in the first half, becoming the sixth player in Tech history to total at least 10 sacks in a season (the last to accomplish that feat was FELIPE CLAYBROOKS, who recorded 10 sacks in 1998).
  • Junior NICK ROGERS bagged his 9th sack of the year in the second quarter. One more sack would give the Yellow Jackets two players with at least 10 sacks for the second time in school history. Coleman Rudolph (13) and Marco Coleman (10) each topped 10 sacks in 1991.
  • Junior GEORGE GODSEY completed 13 of 24 for 225 yards in the first half. It was the second time in the last three games that Godsey has eclipsed the 200 yard-mark in the first half (he had 242 yards in the first half against Wake Forest).
  • Georgia Tech single game records set by GODSEY:
454 Passing Yards (old record is 416 by Darrell Gast vs. Duke in 1987)
35 Completions (old record, 28 by Todd Rampley vs. Wake Forest, 1988)
57 attempts is the second most in school history (record 61 by Larry Good vs. Tennessee, 1968) With 18 touchdown passes, GODSEY has now thrown more TD passes this season than any Tech quarterback except Joe Hamilton last season, who set the school record with 29. Godsey also topped 2,000 yards for the season (2007).
  • KELLY CAMPBELL tied the school record with 14 receptions, also held by Robert Lavette (Notre Dame, 1981), Steve Harkey (South Carolina, 1970) and John Sias (Navy, 1968). Campbell's previous high was 11 receptions vs. Duke in 1999
  • Junior KELLY CAMPBELL now stands in second place in Tech history in both career receptions (129) and career yards (2,013).
  • CAMPBELL set a new career high with 209 yards, the fourth best total in school history.
