Unterberger and Snoddy Compete At NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Making their first ever NCAA Indoor Championship appearances, Senior Aaron Unterberger and sophomore Broderick Snoddy competed Friday night at the Randal Tyson Track Complex.

Unterberger placed 12th in the pole vault with a height of 5.40m (17’8.5”), after qualifying for the event with a school-record height of 5.44m (17’10.25″) at the Last Chance Invite in Blacksburg, Va. last weekend.

Andrew Irwin of Arkansas took home the men’s pole vault title with a distance of 5.70m (18’8.25”), followed by Jack Whitt of Oral Roberts (5.60m; 18’4.5”) in second and Mississippi’s Sam Kendricks (5.60m; 18’4.5”) in third.

Snoddy finished his stellar indoor season in the men’s 60-meter preliminaries with a 13th-place finish and a time of 6.75. The top eight qualify for the finals set for Saturday at 7:10 p.m. CT.
