Angelo Taylor To Run In 400-meter Hurdles Olympic Finals

LONDON, England – Angelo Taylor, a former member of the Georgia Tech track team, will compete in the final round of the men’s 400-meter hurdles at the Summer Olympics in London, England on Monday, Aug. 6.

Taylor ran a season best 47.95 in the semifinals on Saturday, finishing second in his heat and third overall to earn a spot in the finals. Taylor is one of three runners that will represent the USA in the medal event that features eight runners.

The 33-year-old Taylor is looking to win the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles for his third straight Olympic Games, having also taken home the gold in the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Also representing the USA and Georgia Tech track and field in the Summer Olympics is high jumper Chaunte (Howard) Lowe. She will jump in the qualifying round on Thursday, Aug. 9, and the finals are set for Saturday, Aug. 11.
