The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team (19-14, 7-9 ACC) will face Ole Miss (18-13, 7-9 SEC) on the road on Sunday for the second round of the WNIT at 7 p.m. ET. Sunday’s game will be broadcast online onSEC Network +, which is available via theWatchESPN app on smartphones, computers, tablets, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. – Sophomore Kaela Davis was named First Team All-ACC and the Georgia College Player of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
– Davis’ 19.54 ppg ranks third in the ACC and she finished first in scoring in conference games with 19.6 ppg.
– Georgia Tech is now 6-3 overall in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. This is Coach Joseph’s eighth trip to the post season and first to the WNIT. She is 7-7 in the post season.
– Head coach MaChelle Joseph became GT’s all-time winningest coach after the Jackets defeated Clemson on Jan. 4. She has a career record of 232-148.
– This is the first meeting in school history against Ole Miss.

WNIT HISTORY
The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team is making its first appearance in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament since 2002 and its fifth appearance overall. In five appearances in the WNIT, the Jackets have gone 6-3. The Yellow Jackets won the 1992 NWIT at the Cal Farley Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas, knocking off Green Bay Wisconsin, Nebraska and Hawaii. Tech hosted first round games in 2000 and 2002. The Jackets played in the WNIT in 1992, 2000, 2001 and 2002. This is the first time under head coach MaChelle Joseph that the Jackets will play in the WNIT. The Jackets advanced to the second round after knocking off Elon, 69-47, in Atlanta.

YOU LOOK FAMILIAR
While Georgia Tech and Ole Miss are meeting for the first time in program history, the Jackets have played a team from the state of Mississippi twice in past WNIT appearances. In 2000, the Yellow Jackets defeated Southern Mississippi in the first round in overtime, 76-71, at home. The next year in 2001, the Jackets traveled to Starkville, MIss. to face Mississippi in the first round and lost, 77-73.

JOSEPH IN THE POSTSEASON
Georgia Tech’s trip to the WNIT marks head coach MaChelle Joseph’s eighth appearance in the postseason in her 12 years as a head coach. Joseph, who is the all-time winningest coach at Georgia Tech, led the Jackets to seven NCAA Tournaments, including six-straight from the years of 2007-2012. The Yellow Jackets also played in 2014 NCAA Tournament. In 2012, the Jackets made history under Joseph’s direction, advancing to the program’s first-ever Sweet 16. Joseph owns a 6-7 record in the post season and this is her first trip to the WNIT Tournament as a head coach.

MULTIPLE 20 POINT SCORERS
In two of the past three games, the Yellow Jackets have had two players score at least 20 points. Against Elon, sophomore Kaela Davis and junior Aaliyah Whiteside combined to score 68 percent of Georgia Tech’s points. Davis scored 24 while Whiteside notched 23. Against Clemson in the ACC Tournament Whitside scored a team-best 23 points while junior Roddreka Rogers tallied a career-high 20 points.

In 19 of Tech’s 33 games, at least one player has scored 20 points or more and in six games, two Yellow Jackets reached the 20 point mark in the same game.

DAVIS NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-ACC
Sophomore Kaela Davis has been named to the All-ACC First Team after a stellar sophomore campaign by the ACC’s Blue Ribbon Panel, which consists of media, school representatives and the ACC’s head coaches, and by the ACC’s head coaches. Davis is just the fifth Jacket to earn All-ACC First Team accolades. Davis’ appointment on the All-ACC First Team marks the third-straight year Tech has had someone honored on the first team. Tyaunna Marshall was named All-ACC First Team in both 2013 and 2014. Davis was named to the All-ACC Second Team as a freshman.

DAVIS SETS SEASON SCORING RECORD
Sophomore Kaela Davis broke the Georgia Tech record for most points scored in a single season after scoring 14 points against UNC in the ACC Tournament. Davis entered the game needing just three points to break former Jacket’s Tyaunna Marshall record of 609 points which she scored as a senior during the 2014-15 season. Davis currently has 621 points and she is just the second Yellow Jacket to score at least 600 points in a single season, joining Marshall on that list. Davis has 1,215 career points which sits at 19th in the Georgia Tech record books.

POST SEASON LEADERS
Throughout the three post season games so far, junior Aaliyah Whiteside has averaged a team-high 19.7 points per game while junior Roddreka Rogers has averaged a double-double with 11.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. Kaela Davis is averaging 13.7 points per game over the past three games.
