Marshall is the eighth Georgia Tech player drafted and the sixth under head coach MaChelle Joseph.

“Ty Marshall will be a great player in the WNBA,” Joseph said. “Its exciting for Ty and our program for her to be drafted by the New York Liberty. I have been at Georgia Tech for 11 years and to have six players drafted in the WNBA is a huge honor for our program. I look forward to the next decade of Georgia Tech women’s basketball and what we will accomplish.”

Marshall is the fifth Yellow Jacket drafted in the second round of the WNBA Draft, joining Sonja Mallory (2003 – 24th overall pick), Kasha Terry (2006- 26th overall pick), Chioma Nnamaka (2008- 21st overall pick) and Brigitte Ardossi (2010 – 21st overall pick).
