Jackets Set to Host Pair of Matches Saturday

THE FLATS – The No. 13 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team returns to action hosting a pair of matches on Saturday at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. The Jackets open play facing Chattanooga at 11 a.m. followed by Georgia Southern at 3 p.m.

THE SCENE: Coming off the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Tech brings a 6-2 overall record into the weekend. The Mocs of Chattanooga have also gotten off to a solid start, carrying a 6-2 mark and riding a three-match win streak. Georgia Tech and Chattanooga meet for the ninth time in program history Saturday morning with the Jackets leading the series 7-1. Georgia Southern has opened the spring schedule going 5-1 as the Eagles and Jackets meet for the 12th time in program history. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series, 9-2.

Parking: Georgia Tech will be hosting 16 home events this weekend. Fans are asked to follow these instructions for parking at the events to ensure the best experience.

ITA RANKINGS – Georgia Tech comes in at No. 13 in the top-25 of the latest ITA rankings released earlier this week. Rasheeda McAdoo sits at No. 43 in the singles ranking, while teammate Nami Otsuka comes in at No. 92. The Jackets boasts the No. 11 doubles tandem in the country in Johnnise Renaud and Rasheeda McAdoo.

LAST TIME OUT – The Jackets were one of 16 teams in the country to earn a bid to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships and posted a 1-2 record. Tech faced three nationally-ranked teams in the event, falling to California to open the event before rebounding with a 5-2 win over Ole Miss. The Jackets closed with a loss to Auburn.
