LINCOLN, Neb.  – The Georgia Tech volleyball team (9-2) fell to fifth-ranked Nebraska (7-1) in straight sets Saturday evening at the Nebraska Ameritas Players Challenge at the Devaney Sports Center.  

How it Happened
After defeating UC Davis in five sets, the Yellow Jackets turned around and faced the Huskers who won the first two sets 25-13 and 25-15. The Jackets tied the third set at 13-13, but the Huskers pulled away and won 25-21 to take the match 3-0.

"I’m very proud of the things we accomplished this weekend,” head coach Michelle Collier said. “The win against UC Davis showed a lot of resilience and teamwork, and Nebraska just played a strong match against us. Overall it was a great team performance and a lot of good things to build on for the following weeks."

Teegan Van Gunst tallied 12 kills and Annika Van Gunst added 11 kills to lead Georgia Tech’s offense.
Sydney Wilson pitched in seven kills on 14 swings with two errors for a .357 hitting clip.
London Ackermann put up 13 digs to hold down the back row.
Nebraska used a strong block in the win (11 blocks to Tech’s four).
Tech’s eight-match win streak came to an end against the Huskers. The streak was the longest for Georgia Tech since the Jackets won nine in a row in 2006.
